Lunch will be served on board upon request and when booked in advance. You may also enjoy delicious cocktails at sunset.
UPUPA SAILING
Despite being a new firm, Upupa Sailing is distinguished by its founder’s 20 years of nautical experience.
With his professionalism and extensive expertise in the maritime industry, Commander Samuele will ensure that your excursions of the Tavolara Protected Marine Area are 100% safe. Our boat, "Upupa Pigrona", meets all safety and seaworthiness standards in accordance with current regulations.
"Che Manovra" is a boat measuring approximately 9.5 meters, designed to offer a comfortable, stable, and private experience at sea—ideal for those wishing to enjoy the coastline with greater comfort than a standard high-speed excursion. It is a welcoming and functional vessel, featuring well-distributed spaces that include an outdoor area, a cockpit, sunbathing areas, and a swimming platform.
On board, guests will find:
• a restroom;
• sunbathing areas;
• sun shades for protection during the hottest hours;
• a freshwater shower for use after swimming;
• an easy-to-use ladder for entering and exiting the water;
• a spacious aft platform, convenient for preparing to swim, relaxing by the water, or diving in;
• livable outdoor spaces for relaxation, aperitifs, and socializing;
• recreational snorkeling gear, perfect for enjoying the seabed, coves, and crystal-clear waters in a simple, enjoyable way.
The boat is available for groups of up to 8 guests to ensure comfort, privacy, and high-quality service on board. Upon request, accommodating up to 11 guests may be considered, depending on the type of experience, weather and sea conditions, and the day's itinerary.
We believe the sea shouldn’t be rushed. It should be experienced at a leisurely pace—with respect, ample space, and the right company. Manovra was born from this very idea: to offer exclusive, curated, and authentic experiences where every guest feels free, welcomed, and relaxed.
We do not chase after frenetic tourism. We prefer to create outings that are more intimate, authentic, and elegant. A boat, the waters of Tavolara, comfort, privacy, a carefully curated seafood menu, and the time needed to truly savor it all.
Tavolara Marine Park boat Tour (7 hours)
Departure from Wave Marina pier 10:00 am.
We will Together with our guests, we will select the most picturesque coves and hidden gems within the Tavolara Protected Marine Area, amidst crystal-clear waters and
breathtaking scenery. We can visit Spiaggia del Dottore, the Molara Pools, Isola Piana, Isola dei Cavalli, Spiaggia della Tartaruga, Cala Girgolu, Sassi Piatti, Capo Coda
Cavallo, and many other wonders. The itinerary includes 3–4 stops for swimming and relaxation. On board, an aperitif awaits you, featuring chilled Vermentino wine and a
platter of Sardinian specialties. Upon request, you can enhance the experience with a choice of lunch: either a light two-course menu or a four-course menu, both prepared
using fresh local fish and produce.
Tavolara Marine Park boat Tour (3,5 hours)
Departure from the Wave Marina pier: morning 9:30 am-1 pm (at the pier), afternoon 2 pm-5:30 pm (at the pier)
We will select the most visually stunning locations to visit in the Tavolara sea area with our guests. Upupa
Sailing recommends Spiaggia del Dottore, Piscine di Molara, Isola Piana, Isola dei Cavalli, Spiaggia della Tartaruga,
Cala Girgolu, Sassi Piatti, Capo Coda Cavallo and many others. There will be 2-3 stops for swimming. Upupa will also
offer you a delicious cocktail with chilled Vermentino and typical Sardinian charcuterie.
Aperitif at Sunset Boat Tour (2.5 hours)
Departure from Wave Marina Pier: June, July, and August departure at 18.30.
In other months, the departure is based on sea weather and sunlight conditions.
Upupa offers you the opportunity to enjoy breathtaking light effects reflected on the crystal-clear sea of the Sardinian coastline. You will be able to combine photos
from your smartphones and post special moments on social media while sipping a cocktail in the middle of the sea and savouring
platters of typical products as lounge music plays in the background. This tour includes stops at Isola Cavalli, Isola Piana,
or Sassi Piatti (Cala Girgolu). The tour will only take place in perfect weather conditions.
"Boat & Breakfast" (Overnight stay on a boat)
The Boat & Breakfast service gives our guests the opportunity to spend the night on board our boat and enjoy the magical experience of being rocked to sleep by the waves and waking up afloat on the surface of the water. Spend the night on board Upupa. Two spacious cabins with en-suite bathrooms, hot water, and a dinette with tables are available. Outside, there is ample space for a front sundeck, flybridge with soft cushions and awning, and cushioned stern. Your comfort is assured. We serve an Italian breakfast from 07:45 to 08:30, which is included in your stay. Dinner can be served on board upon request and when booked in advance. Check-out at 09.00 am. (max)

- Tours are subject to availability and confirmation
- Tours are conditional on favourable and comfortable weather conditions
- Return times are to be understood as "boat moored at the pier"
- Lunch can be served on board during tours upon request (extra cost)
- The tour can be shared with other guests or can be exclusive (reservation required)
- Driver, fuel, and snorkelling gear are included in the Tour offer (except fuel for the "Charter Hire" offer)
- The minimum age for children is 5 years (75% price)
- Unfortunately, we do not have facilities to make the boat accessible to disabled people
